Tribute to Heroes
A Drive-Thru Celebration

Join the Valley Medical Center Foundation on August 22 for “A Tribute to Heroes – a Drive-Thru Celebration,” a special evening to recognize local COVID-19 healthcare workers and raise funds to keep them safe – all from the comfort of your own car.  We are creating an entire event experience on the campus of Citrix in Santa Clara, including live music, entertainment, special guests and a delicious, to-go gourmet meal paired with fine wines and other surprises for you to enjoy when you return home.

Bring the entire family, or make it a date.  All proceeds raised will support the Valley Medical Center Foundation.  Since March, the VMC Foundation has led local efforts to collect dollars, materials and supplies to keep COVID-19 healthcare workers safe.  We can’t keep doing that work without your support.  Your help is needed more than ever.

With your sponsorship or ticket purchase, you’ll enjoy an approximately 20 minute journey of delight and inspiration with music, entertainment, games, silent auction, and take home a pre-packaged gourmet meal with fine wine and other surprises.


Does this event replace the VMC Foundation Annual Gala & Auction?

Yes! COVID-19 means we can’t do a big in-person Gala, but if you have been to that event in the past, rest assured we’ll be replicating as much of that wonder and grandeur as possible.  But more importantly, we’ve created this event specifically to honor local healthcare heroes and to raise funds to support our work to keep them safe.

We really stay in our car the entire time?  How will that work?

Each participant will arrive in their car at an assigned time (you can select your time based on availability), and be at the venue for approximately 20-30 minutes.  During that time, you’ll be guided through an outdoor course that includes live entertainment, special guests and other surprises.  A special meal and wine pick-up will be at the end, at which point you’ll return home to enjoy an evening with your family.

Will it be safe?

Yes!  This event has been approved by local health authorities and is designed with safety as the top priority.  All participants will be socially isolated within their vehicles.  No touch registration and meal pick-up will be provided by staff who will be screened prior to starting work, wearing masks and gloves, and using dissinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer.  Meals will be prepared and packaged off-site in a licensed, commercial kitchen facility.

Will the food be good?

Oh my gosh, yes.  And the wine too.

Will there still be an auction?

Yes, but it will be 100% online, with lots of neat, rare and interesting items.  All proceeds benefiting our work.
