Almaden Valley Kiwanis Club transforms VMC Pediatric Clinic
Valley Medical Center provides great care to kids, with some of the region’s top doctors and nurses and terrific facilities. But what we don’t often do is make the experiecne a fun one for kids.
The Almaden Valley Kiwanis Club is helping to change that.
On Saturday and Sunday April 21-22, the VMC Foundation teamed up with local leaders at the Almaden Valley Kiwanis Club to put on and outstanding service day in the Pediatric Specialty Clinic at Valley Health Center Bascom.
Before the group started, the exam room walls were white and bare…
…and after a full weekend of painting, the rooms looked spectacular!

Exam room designed by local artist Carissa Rosario
Over 80 volunteers and 8 local artists later, the Pediatric Specialty exam rooms transformed into an environment in which children could be more excited and feel more comfortable about their visits to the doctor.
In the coming months, the remaining 40 pediatric exam rooms at VHC Bascom will get the same upgrade. To see more photos from the event, visit http://www.facebook.com/avkiwanis.

Thanks to all the volunteers and the Kiwanis for the beautiful paintings; so many of our patients have commented that they like them.
